Wachtl Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands where we work and the place in which we live. We pay respect to ancestors and elders, past, present, and future. We recognise the unique cultural and spiritual relationship and celebrate the contributions of first nations peoples. There are however many challenges facing indigenous communities and Wachtl Australia aims to assist in health and education opportunities improvements by directly supporting aboriginal communities and non-profit charities.
Australia is vast country with most population concentrated around hospitable and greatly urbanised coastal areas. Less than one third of our population lives in rural and remote areas. Those communities face unique challenges due to their geographic isolation. Health system taken for granted in the city is not accessible in the outback. Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is vital non-profit organisation established in 1928 by Reverend John Flynn (futured on our 20 Dollar note) to provide aeromedical emergency services, fly in – fly out general practitioner, nursing and allied health clinics to people living, working, and travelling in rural and remote areas. Wachtl Australia is proud supporter of RFDS.
Tourism industry keeps growing as more people intend to enjoy what the world has to offer. However, with this expansion comes an increased contribution to carbon emissions. As part of our corporate and social responsibility, we offset the environmental costs through our collaboration with Greenfleet, a leading non-profit environmental organisation on a mission to protect climate by restoring Australian forests. This means when you book a tour with Wachtl Australia, you can do so with complete peace of mind as your tour will be carbon neutral, trees are being planted right now to offset any environmental impact caused by our operations.
As tourism becomes increasingly important to Australia’s economy and to our nation’s sense of identity, the necessity of having knowledgeable expert tour guide becomes crucial to its success. With the right mix of skills, experience, and an industry-recognised qualification, new guides will be set to provide memorable customer experiences or help plan the trip of a lifetime. At Wachtl Australia, we believe in developing talent by providing TAFE NSW Travel and Tourism students with the opportunity to obtain valuable practical experience by sharing our knowledge in class and on board of our fleet.
