Discover World Heritage listed Blue Mountains national park found only 1.5 hour away from Sydney. Nestled within the wilderness lie charming mountain towns and iconic tourist attractions. Encounter with native wildlife, initiate into the aboriginal culture and expect to be enchanted by the natural beauty when you set out to explore the walking tracks that loop around the verdant valleys, craggy cliffs, and marvellous waterfalls.
With an early start escape the city before the morning traffic and make it to desired destination ahead of big crowds. Cross the Anzac Bridge, pass the site of the Olympic Park and continue via western suburbs to the lush hinterland of Sydney.
Find yourself on an amazing animal adventure as you encounter some of the most loved and feared animals that call Australia home. Wander the leafy bush setting and get up close with wombats, tassie devils, dingoes, reptiles and many bird species. Step into koala enclosure and don’t miss the opportunity to hand feed kangaroos and wallabies.
Stay at the picnic area or choose short but steep walk to Princess Rock lookout to marvel at the waterfall as it plunges 187 metres to the valley floor. Continue with under cliff hike via Fletchers lookout to Wentworth Falls where Jamison Creek cascades into a shallow pool to one side and the magnificent Jamison Valley opens out on the other.
Explore the delightful charms of the boutique garden village. Relish scrumptious savoury pie at the renowned Bakehouse or pick one of many rustic restaurants and caffes for a freshly cooked meal (lunch at own expense).
No visit to the Blue Mountains would be complete without a stop for the best views of the famous Three Sisters. Hear legend of the rock formation and initiate into the aboriginal culture and their connection to ancestors’ land. Visit Cahill Lookout for breathtaking views of Jamison and Megalong valleys separated by Narrow Neck and stop at Lincoln Rock for final stunning picture of the national park.
Beat the afternoon traffic and enjoy 55-minute ferry ride back along the Parramatta River. Cruise under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, past the Sydney Opera House to finish at Circular Quay. Scroll through the waterfront quarter as you make your own way back to your accommodation (ferry at own expense).

Decided to take a tour of Sydney before we ventured on our own Hired Mark Wachtl www.wachtlaustralia.com.au. And it was great. Mark picked us up at the airport and took us all over the city and out to Bondi Beach where we stopped for lunch. We got an overall view of the city as well as some history. Mark was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a map when we finished the tour, circling where we had been and suggestions of where we might want to go. He said to call him if we had any questions. He’s a great guide and I would recommend him.

Dear Mark, thank you so much for such a wonderful trip! You were so helpful, friendly, and professional. We both appreciated you sharing your extensive knowledge about Australia. Your comments regarding Aboriginal culture were especially insightful! The course you took sounded fascinating. Thanks again!
